About Me

I’ve never liked professional bios. If that’s what you’ve come for, feel free to ask for my resume or my book or my more “official” author page over on Amazon. But this is the place where my thoughts come to dance, so that is what you will get if you clicked on this page.

My name is Talia Goforth, but you may also know me as Talia Prewette. I’ve written stuff under both names. I’m a storyteller by heart. Sometimes I say author or writer or something like that, but storyteller encapsulates so much more. I live and breathe and sing and dream stories. I could string together words to make coherent sentences all day, but stories are something else altogether, and that’s what I’m here for: to tug at heartstrings, to touch that deep part of the soul, to bask in the awe of the knowledge that we are so small, and that there is a much bigger story all around us, inside us, beating in our chests.

There is in my heart as it were a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I am weary with holding it in, and I cannot. *

Above all, I love and serve my savior, Jesus Christ. I write for his glory alone, which is how I named my website. Most of my stories depict miraculous love, healing, redemption, grace, and hope. They also contain darkness, pain, suffering, evil, and despair. We live in a world where creation itself groans in longing to be restored. We’re all broken. We all hurt.

And I believe it is possible for even the most broken soul to be healed.

That’s what I write about.

I’m not only a storyteller, of course, though it has been a serious hobby since middle school. I’m also a musician—I play the piano and sometimes sing. You’ll find that I like to play with the way stories are told. Words aren’t the only way to communicate something.

I also love reading. Tolkien is my favorite, and if you spend any time on here, you will learn that very quickly. I love fantasy and science fiction in general—that’s actually what I mainly write, too. I love any story that touches on the fantastical, but I also love stories that are so real they hurt. And on the other hand, I love books I can pick up for a light-hearted afternoon. Perhaps I should make a page just for book recommendations—cause I have a lot of them!

I love coffee and blue ballpoint pens and Christmas Eve and the smell of old books. I love spending time in libraries, coffee shops, on rainy streets at night, and under fuzzy blankets. I love teal and mint and lavender, cute video games and Beethoven’s ninth symphony and power metal, Doctor Who and Lord of the Rings and Sherlock Holmes. I love creating literally anything—stories, music, food, crafts, art, poetry.

That’s just a brief introduction, but if you’re new to my blog, I would love to get to know you more. Feel free to leave a comment or send me a message.

And here is what I look like. Again, if you want professional pictures, there’s literally, like, two of them in the sidebar. This is me drinking coffee, which is most likely how you’ll find me if we ever meet.
