About Me

Hi! My  name is Talia Prewette, and I love writing, but I find that writing about myself in the third person is awkward and annoying, so this’ll just have to do. I’ve loved writing stories for as long as I can remember. Over the past few years, I’ve started taking it more seriously. I write mainly in two genres: fantasy and science fiction. I used to write fanfiction all the time, until I decided I wanted to be original.

I also believe that God has called me to share the Good News of the Gospel with everyone. That is what he wants me to do with my life. He has called me to show people the truth – the truth that sets you free. So, everything I write points to God in some way.

I guess I should list some of my hobbies. I love reading. I love British TV (especially Sherlock. I love Sherlock so much. Once I spent seven hours straight just watching Sherlock.) I love drinking tea. I think I’m addicted to it. I love ballpoint pens. Especially dark blue ones.

I’m neither a plotter nor a pantser. Actually, I’m a strict pantser when writing the first draft, but when it comes time to edit, I magically transform into a plotter. I have no idea why.

I also work best at night. I’ve stayed up way past midnight to write before. Don’t worry, it wasn’t a school night, in case you were wondering, Mom. Okay, it actually was. Once or twice.

Also, I always write to music. I’ve heard that if you absolutely must write with music, you should choose songs without lyrics… but I don’t really follow that advice.

So that’s me: a Christian, a writer, and definitely a Sherlockian. So now… could you tell me a little about yourself? I’d love to get to know you!

I also enjoy a Lemony-Snicket-style mystery, and may or may not have hidden secret messages all over this blog. Have fun.
