My name is Talia Prewette, I’m sixteen years old, and I love writing! I’ve always enjoyed writing stories, but over the past couple years I’ve really discovered my love for it. Mostly I write fantasy and science fiction, and sometimes fanfiction.
I love reading. I love British TV (especially Sherlock. I love Sherlock so much. Once I spent seven hours straight just watching Sherlock.) I love drinking tea. In fact, every night I fix myself a cup of tea and read a book (or write one) in bed. It’s a nice little routine.
I also believe that God has called me to spread the Gospel. That is what he wants me to do with my life. He has called me to show people the truth – the truth that sets you free. Right now, I do it through writing.
Every writer has their quirks. I don’t know why; I guess it’s just a writer thing. I’ll list some of mine…
I’m picky when it comes to notebooks and pens. Especially pens. Plain old boring blue ballpoint pens are about the only kind I’ll write with. This is because one day when I was thirteen I picked one up and started writing a story. After that, there was no turning back.
I work best at night. I’ve stayed up way past midnight to write before. Don’t worry, it wasn’t a school night, in case you were wondering, Mom. Okay, it actually was. Once or twice.
I CANNOT OUTLINE TO SAVE MY LIFE.
BUT I HAVE TO HAVE SOME SORT OF MENTAL PLAN AS TO WHERE THE STORY IS GOING.
IT’S VERY ANNOYING.
For every single story I write, I find a new band or a new album by a band I already like, and I listen to it nonstop throughout the writing process. So now all of my stories have complete soundtrack to go with them.
And finally, all of my stories are pictures of the Gospel, whether I plan them that way or not. Sometimes I have a clear vision of it. Other times I don’t realize what I’ve written until I sit down and think about it.
So now… could you tell me a little about yourself? I’d love to get to know you!
